Jenn Brothers is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 9th District because she believes in standing up for hardworking families and building a fairer future for all communities in our region.
Jenn’s journey is grounded in the values that define this part of Pennsylvania: hard work, resilience, and looking out for your neighbors. She learned these lessons from her grandfather, a World War II veteran, whose service and dedication to community taught her that strength and sacrifice start at home. Jenn had the privilege of living with him in his later years and helping care for him as he faced Alzheimer’s, an experience that deepened her compassion and understanding of the challenges families face. She grew up in another part of the Rust Belt and coal region and chose to make Pennsylvania her home, drawn to the mountains, small-town values, and tight-knit communities. She purchased a home originally built in the 1840s, which she lovingly restores and plans to call home for many years; she has a deep respect for history and has a long-term commitment to the community.
Jenn has spent her entire career as a proud member of labor unions, working alongside everyday Americans, and has built a diverse career in private investigation, correctional law enforcement, higher education administration, banking, and entrepreneurship. These experiences give her a practical understanding of how policies affect families, small businesses, and communities, and how systems can be improved to work better for everyone.
A devoted mother to her daughter, Tawny, and a proud neighbor, Jenn also shares her life with two rescue pups, Bruce and Phoebe. She is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a survivor of sexual assault. These life experiences have strengthened her commitment to fairness, justice, and opportunity for every Pennsylvanian.
Jenn knows what it means to face challenges head-on and never give up. She is ready to bring her experience, heart, and grassroots perspective to Washington to be a true advocate for the people of Pennsylvania’s 9th District. She is committed to fighting for fair wages, supporting small businesses and farmers, reforming campaign finance, and putting the needs of everyday people above special interests.
